DiveVolk SeaTouch 4 Max Platinum V2 – Honest User Review
After completing my first dive trip with the DiveVolk SeaTouch 4 Max Platinum V2, I can honestly say that I’m genuinely impressed. This isn’t a sponsored review—just honest feedback from an enthusiastic underwater photographer.
What I Love
The first thing that stood out to me is the simplicity of the system.
The tray mechanism is excellent. Just place your phone in the tray, slide it into the housing and you’re ready to dive. It’s quick, intuitive and confidence inspiring.
On the dive boat I regularly watched other divers struggling with vacuum pumps and lengthy setup procedures, while I simply inserted my phone, closed the housing and was ready to go.
The touchscreen membrane is, in my opinion, the real game changer. Having complete access to the iPhone underwater is fantastic, and when combined with UWA Cam, it becomes an incredibly capable photography system.
During my first dives I initially struggled with UWA Cam’s Pro mode and ended up with green-looking photos, but that was entirely my own learning curve—not a limitation of the DiveVolk itself. Once I understood the settings, the combination worked brilliantly.
The Bluetooth shutter is another feature I absolutely love. It works reliably and makes both photography and video much more stable. It’s one of those features you don’t realise you need until you’ve used it.
A Few Suggestions
My biggest ergonomic issue is actually caused by one of my favourite features.
On my setup, the Bluetooth shutter blocks the cold shoe mount. As a result, I couldn’t attach my Flex-Arm directly and had to use additional adapters on the top screw mount instead.
While this workaround works, it isn’t ideal. It creates a bulkier setup and occupies the top mounting point that could otherwise be used for other accessories. A slightly different shutter design or positioning could solve this completely.
The external lens system could also be improved. Swapping lenses underwater isn’t particularly convenient, and I’d love to see a proper quick-release solution. Aligning the lens perfectly with the iPhone camera can also be a little fiddly.
The Membrane
One thing that surprised me is how careful you need to be with the touchscreen membrane, especially when getting back onto the dive boat.
I made it a habit to put the protective cover back on before leaving the water whenever possible. One improvement I’d really appreciate would be an alternative cover that fits while an external lens is attached. The current cover doesn’t fit over the lens, meaning you either have to remove the lens first or leave the membrane exposed.
Despite being extremely careful, I still ended up with a tiny scratch on the membrane. Fortunately, it had absolutely no impact on touchscreen functionality or image quality.
Final Thoughts
The biggest compliment I can give the DiveVolk SeaTouch 4 Max Platinum V2 is that after only a few dives, I completely stopped thinking about the housing itself and simply enjoyed taking photos.
It’s an innovative, thoughtfully designed product that, especially when paired with UWA Cam, turns an iPhone into a genuinely capable underwater camera.
Would I buy it again?
Without hesitation. Absolutely.
I've owned a few underwater cases. I can say that this dive case is the best for many reasons. The brand's ability to save your battery life by not draining your power underwater is only a fraction of the greatness. The Platinum case is just a better purchase. I'm very happy that I picked this option over the others. There's no need for many of the extra attatchments so it makes it dive-ready out of the box. I highly recommend!
