Crowned: How DIVEVOLK Ambassador Yeroy Delgado Conquered the World of Underwater Photography

In the competitive world of underwater photography, rising to the top requires immense talent, a deep passion for the ocean, and technology that can translate a creative vision into a masterpiece. Today, we are honored to celebrate DIVEVOLK Ambassador Jesús Yeray Delgado and his partner Abigail Martin Hernandez, who have been officially proclaimed 2024 CMAS World Champions and 2025 CMAS World Champions in the mobile category!

The prestigious CMAS World Championships, held in Vlore, Albania, from October 7-12, 2024, brought together elite photographers from over 15 nations. In this intense arena, Yeray and Abigail showcased their exceptional skill, securing the most coveted title in the sport.

A Champion's Perspective: The Gear Behind the Gold

To capture images worthy of a world title, every piece of equipment must perform flawlessly. We spoke with Yeray about his experience and what role his DIVEVOLK setup played in his victory.

"From the very beginning, the entire DIVEVOLK team has helped me by providing me with the necessary equipment to take my mobile photos. It is a visionary company in today's world... producing high-quality equipment so we can dive our mobile devices in the safest possible conditions, achieving results comparable to any professional camera."

When asked what features of the SeaTouch 4 Max housing attracted him most, Yeray was clear:

"The most important feature I like about the DIVEVOLK is its easy touchscreen operation, allowing you to navigate through all the apps on your phone."

The Winning Toolkit: How DIVEVOLK Delivered

Yeray's success was powered by a combination of DIVEVOLK tools, each playing a critical role. Here’s a breakdown of how this gear provides a competitive edge:

1. SeaTouch 4 Max Housing

The core of the system, this housing gives photographers unparalleled control.

  • Full Touchscreen Freedom: It provides unrestricted access to any professional photography app, allowing for critical on-the-fly adjustments to focus, zoom, and EV (exposure value).
  • Pro-Level Imaging: The ability to shoot in RAW format using manual mode is a game-changer, offering maximum flexibility in post-production—a must for competition.
  • Universal Compatibility: It works seamlessly with a full range of iPhone and Android models, making professional underwater photography more accessible than ever.

2. Red Filter

Essential for vibrant color, the red filter was key to bringing the underwater world to life.

  • True Color Restoration: Perfectly optimized for use between 5-25 meters, it corrects the blue-green color cast of seawater, restoring the natural reds and yellows that are lost at depth.
  • Easy Integration: It mounts directly onto the 67mm lens adapter for a secure and simple setup.

3. 0.6x Ultra-Wide Conversion Lens

For grand, cinematic shots like Yeray's winning wreck image, a wide field of view is essential.

  • Expanded Underwater Vision: The lens significantly increases the camera's field of view, allowing for breathtaking wide-angle shots without having to distance yourself from the subject.
  • Superior Optics: It provides excellent distortion correction for sharp, clear images edge-to-edge.
  • Near-Neutral Buoyancy: Weighing only 5g underwater, it has almost no impact on the rig's handling, allowing the photographer to focus on composition, not bulky gear.

A Hero's Welcome

The journey culminated in a joyous return home, where Yeray and Abigail were greeted as the champions they are. The banner they hold says it all: "ESTE AÑO NO FUIMOS SEGUNDOS, FUIMOS CAMPEONES DEL MUNDO" — "This year we weren't second, we were WORLD CHAMPIONS."

This victory is a testament to their dedication and a proud moment for their country and the entire DIVEVOLK community.
