Three years ago, DIVEVOLK set up its first booth at the Moscow Dive Show. What started as a modest introduction to the Russian diving community has grown into something far bigger — a story of partnerships, creative breakthroughs, and a shared belief that you don't need a professional camera rig to capture stunning underwater images.

At this year's show, that story reached a new chapter. Here's what went down.

Three Booths, Three Years: How the Setup Has Evolved

If you've followed DIVEVOLK's presence at Moscow Dive Show, you'll notice the booth tells its own story. In 2024, the focus was on introducing our underwater phone housings to a curious but skeptical audience. By 2025, the SeaTouch 4 Max had earned its reputation, and the booth grew to match. This year, with the SeaLink making its global debut, the setup was the most ambitious yet.

Sponsoring the UPA Mobile Underwater Photography Competition

This year, DIVEVOLK sponsored the mobile phone category of the Underwater Photo Awards (UPA) — one of Russia's most respected underwater photography competitions, hosted as part of the Moscow Dive Show. It was a natural fit. The UPA has long championed creative excellence beneath the surface, and the mobile category represents exactly the shift we've been working toward: making underwater photography accessible to everyone, not just those carrying dedicated camera systems.

Jack Ho Takes the Mobile Photography Crown

The highlight of the competition was DIVEVOLK collaborating photographer Jack Ho winning first place in the mobile category. His winning image — a vibrant macro shot of a clownfish nestled in its anemone host — is the kind of photograph that makes people do a double take when they learn it was captured on a smartphone.

Jack shot the image using the SeaTouch 4 Max housing with a macro lens attachment. The detail in the tentacles, the accurate color rendition, the precise focus on the subject's eye — it's a result that speaks for itself. No post-processing tricks, no thousand-dollar lens. Just solid technique and the right gear.

SeaLink Makes Its Global Debut

Beyond photography, DIVEVOLK used the Moscow stage to unveil SeaLink — our underwater smartphone data transmitter that enables real-time communication between divers and the surface. The response from attendees was immediate and enthusiastic.

Anna, a journalist from Neptun — Russia's second-largest diving magazine — was among the first to recognize SeaLink's potential. She published a dedicated feature in the magazine and hosted a live presentation at the show, walking attendees through real-world applications: instructor-to-student communication during training dives, buddy-pair safety check-ins, and coordinated shoots for underwater film crews.

Macro Photography Masterclass: Tips from the Pros

One of the most popular sessions at the DIVEVOLK booth was a hands-on masterclass in underwater macro photography, led by collaborating photographers Evgeniya and Alex. Both are experienced macro shooters who've spent years refining their craft with DIVEVOLK gear, and they brought that depth of knowledge to the stage.

The session covered the essentials — working distance and magnification, lighting angles for translucent subjects, anticipating marine life behavior for the perfect moment, and color correction techniques in post. For many attendees, it was their first exposure to just how capable a phone-based macro setup can be when paired with the right housing and lens.

Featured in Russia's Top Diving Publications

The show's impact extended well beyond the exhibition hall. Russia's two leading diving magazines — Glubina (the country's largest) and Neptun — both ran features on DIVEVOLK.

Glubina published an in-depth article on underwater photography with DIVEVOLK's SeaTouch 4 Max Platinum housing, while Neptun focused on the SeaLink and its potential to reshape how divers communicate underwater. For a brand building its presence in the Russian market, that kind of editorial coverage from trusted, independent publications carries real weight.

The People Who Made It Happen

No event recap would be complete without acknowledging the community members who showed up — not as employees, but as friends of the brand.

Maria (Moscow) has been a fixture at the DIVEVOLK booth for three consecutive years. A passionate diver who makes annual trips to the Maldives for underwater photography, Maria's enthusiasm for the gear is genuine and infectious. She's the kind of advocate that no amount of marketing budget can buy.

Julia and Pavel (Saint Petersburg) made the trip from Russia's northern capital for the third year running. As experienced divers with a keen eye for product detail, their recommendations carry credibility with fellow enthusiasts that traditional advertising simply can't match.

Alena (Rostov-on-Don) brought her social media skills to the show floor, conducting interviews and creating content that extended DIVEVOLK's reach far beyond the exhibition walls. Her coverage captured the energy of the event and introduced the brand to audiences across Russia who couldn't attend in person.

What's Next

Moscow Dive Show 2026 was the strongest showing yet for DIVEVOLK in Russia — but it's just one stop on a much longer journey. As organizations like PADI continue to promote ocean awareness, smartphone underwater photography is growing fast worldwide, and every competition win, every magazine feature, and every conversation at the booth reinforces the same message: the barrier to entry for serious underwater imaging has never been lower.

If you're curious about getting started, explore the SeaTouch 4 Max kits or check out our technical support resources. And if you're already part of the community, we'd love to hear from you — reach out through our contact page.

The ocean doesn't care what camera you're carrying. It only cares that you showed up. See you at the next one.
